Amber, one of our biggest fans, recently went on a short city trip to Paris. She decided to share her experience with the us and the other readers of our website. So we are proud to present you "traveling to Paris" through the eyes of Amber.

Dear readers. My name is Amber and a couple of days ago I returned from my city trip to Paris. I was so overwhelmed by the city of love that I decided to share this great experience with you. I hope you enjoy it.

I will not bore you with details about how my trip to Paris was but I'll immediately start with the interesting stuff, the places I visited. My husband, Michael, who is a big museum fan insisted that our 1 day city trip would officially start in the Centre Georges Pompidou. One cannot just describe this centre in a few words. It houses the Bibliothèque publique d'information, a vast public library, the Musée National d'Art Moderne which is the largest museum for modern art in Europe, and IRCAM, a centre for music and acoustic research. Although I'm not much of a museum fan I was really overwhelmed by the Centre Georges Pompidou which is much more than just a museum. We stayed there for over 3 hours and there was even so much more to see, but we didn't have enough time.

Afterwards Fred and I went to the most famous monument in Paris, and perhaps in the whole of Europe, the Eifel Tower. What a stunning monument the Eifel Tower is! We climbed over 600 steps to get to the second floor and took the lift to get even higher, to the third floor. The building is actually older than I thought as it was erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair. According to the info we got the tower stands 320 meters (1,050 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-story building. During its construction, the Eiffel Tower surpassed the Washington Monument to assume the title of the tallest man-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years. After descending the Eifel Tower we visited most of the interesting places displayed underneath.

Last but not least I want to share the beautiful skyline of Paris with you. The most famous skyline (from all the movies) is displayed in one of the smaller webcams above, but I wanted to share this one as it really captures the beauty of this city. You cannot just walk around in Paris and not fall in love with it. The food we ate was great, the wine was just perfect, the people were incredibly nice and there were so many beautiful places to visit. I'm sure I will return to Paris for a longer city-trip next year!

Have some of you also been to Paris yet? And was your experience as good as mine?
